Aiden I find your rhetoric pretty insulting. You complain that no one ever does anything to solve the problem..and your solution is to run away from it entirely and not address it at all, and then come here and complain that no one does anything to solve the problem.

When was the last time you organized or participated in a march on Washington? or called your Congressman on the phone? or made an appointment to see your Senator? or even attended a town meeting?

Are you actively participating in any kind of solution? You won't be living in the USA much longer? Well then you have absolutely nothing to complain about then, do you. You are running away from the problem, rather than make any attempt to solve it.

Very very insulting. Especially on a spiritual forum.

Well i am sorry i insulted you... I am 17, and as the system is set up in America have next to no power to change a thing, and a very small voice. Simply put there is nothing i can do at the moment.

I have wrote my senator a few times though, same generic reply ill try to find the e-mail... (goes to search) I must have deleted it but i remember it very well... (rough quote) "Thank you for the letter, if this issue ever comes before congress ill keep your letter in mind"

Not that i expected much, there pretty busy people, i would be more offended if they responded in detail to every call/letter/email as they would most likely be lacking on there job.

Now in my defense... i wasn't trying to state a proper solution for the issue, i have many ideas on how to fix the many issues plaguing this nation name one and ill give you my opinion. I was complaining but the was a good reason to complain...

Americas complain so much its not even funny, people associate Americans with being dumb, stupid and fat all over the world, especially in Europe, they also relate us to being selfish and not in tune with problems around the world.

So since the main topic was health care i guess i should give a option. Not that im a expert on health care or know tons on it i have personal experiences that show how screwed up and wrong the system is.

I have never had really great health care through out my life even though its not much of a issue for me now as i am against most of modern medicine and work on healing myself through natural herbs and meditation.. A big problem in my house is dental, only been once in my life, thing is family cant afford it. My mom has been on disability for almost 2 years now, but shes been pretty sick for at least 5 years. She has at times had to skip her high blood pressure medicine because she couldn't afford it as well as her doctor is a real jackass...

So enough of me even though i could go on for a hour thats not the point...

The problem with health care.... People are not being covered.. lots of people without quality health care myself included. Doctors are so worried about being sued that they do every unnecessary procedure just to make sure there covered in the long run, i believe the recent poll was 20% of all health care is not needed for that reason.

Now of days going to the doctors is like a visit to the store, you walk in sign a form, wait and get taken by a nurse to get your weight, symptoms, all that and then you sit in a waiting room for 10 minute. Doctor comes in spends as little time as possible and leaves comes back with your diagnoses writes the prescription and leaves.

That doesn't seem right... A doctor should be able to spend more then 5 minutes with a patient before knowing everything and sending you home with pills. I went in for a mild allergy problem got sent home apparently with a severe chest infection... and a load of drugs i never took and never got sick from.

Problems are in America we spend the most money on health care and have one of the worst systems in the modern world. We need health care reform but now is not the time and we cant have the current proposal as it wont work.

My idea is basic as im not qualified to come up with a health care system but we need affordable coverage for everyone, what we need is to keep prices low and eliminate this wasteful system and put restrictions on malpractice lawsuits so doctors dont have to cover there ass so much and can just work on helping people. We however CANNOT have a option where a government entity is insuring people...

If there are public companies insuring people they have to worry about costs and competition as well as taxes, salaries and all that, but with a government entity they don't have to worry about salaries, taxes, profits or anything, they can charge what ever and not have a problem running the public companies into the ground.

A old business practice that is now not allowed was for a major grocery chain (or any other store) to basically drop its prices insanely low to run to smaller business out of business because it couldn't drop its prices due to being a small business. Then the large company would raise its prices back to the normal after the store had closed.

How do you keep prices low in health care? Competition.. and the elimination of wasteful spending and malpractice wastes that only drive up the price to the consumer, theirs no reason to get the government involved in some kind of public health care.

This is Capitalism.... The idea that keeps the government separate from the economy, not the government being a part of every sector of the economy which is socialism...

Buying up banks or "bailouts" as they were called and then telling them how to run the company is socialism... The government being able to fire a Major car companies CEO is socialism...

If America is going to get back to the democracy it should be then they need to get out of the private sector and get back to what used to go on.

Now if you have another point you would like to debate make a new thread. I would be happy to debate you. Sorry for insulting you but my opinion is just that a opinion and I don't mind anyone having there own view because thats what America is supposed to be about freedom...

As the Admin of this forum let me reiterate that while we are spiritually moded, we are also open and forward thinking, and we are not here to use spirituality as a righteous tool. Everyone is free to their own thought process and opinion here, and there is no use in trying to change another persons perception, that is only possible when first we change our own.

I don't see any insult taking place in this thread towards anyone Moxiousannie. I see a young man vocalizing his disenchantment with socialism and seeing as his generation is setting themselves up to move into a power position in the next decade I think it is commendable that a lad of his age is passionate about his beliefs. While I may not share his beliefs I surely give him space to cultivate them on his own.

Freedom of speech is not rhetoric.

I've learned that you cannot make someone love you.
All you can do is be someone who can be loved
The rest is up to them.
